Hack College Admission Essays

On my drive to work today, I listened to a podcast from This American Life called "How I Got Into College". Ira Glass interviewed Rick Clark, Director of Admissions at Georgia Tech, about the applications process and strange submissions GT has seen.  One of the things he shared was many submitted essays include the wrong school name. How embarrassing! But haven't we all done that? You write an essay or cover letter and just tweak it for the next application.

This is a practical use of Google Forms and Autocrat. Create a bare bones essay that is general in nature, create a Google Form for application specifics, and use Autocrat to merge the two. The finished product will be a Google Doc and able to be tweaked if needed. Work smarter, not harder and increase the probability of getting the right school name! Watch below:
